Our Herd

Our Farming Practices

We believe that pastured cattle have the most natural, stress-free and nutritionally sound living environment and we are committed to being good stewards of our land and our herd. We practice management intensive grazing through the growing season and forage feed the rest of the year. Our goal is to produce delicious and nutritious beef as part of our holistic farming systems. Our cattle live out of doors, year-round… the way nature intended.  They lay in the sun, stand through the rain and breathe fresh, outdoor air.

We raise heritage American Aberdeen Angus cattle. Our bloodlines descend from the original Aberdeen cattle of Scotland. Unlike the modern Angus, which has been bred to consume a grain finishing diet, the Aberdeen Angus has an unaltered digestive tract, which allows them to thrive on a 100% grass diet.  It’s this trait that allows our Aberdeens to grow and fatten (hence marbling and FLAVOR!) naturally, which arguably produces the best tasting beef in the world!

Farming Philosophy

• 100% Grass Fed and Grass Finished

• No grains, routine antibiotics, or growth hormones

• Raised locally on rotated pastures

• Moved to fresh pasture daily during the growing season

• Fed high quality alfalfa and grass hay or stockpiled forages during the winter

• Humanely processed at local, family-owned, USDA inspected facilities
